What is the premium amount?
The monthly premium for membership in Preferred Legal Plan is $9.95, which translates to $4.98 semi-monthly, $4.60 bi-weekly or $2.30 weekly.

Will the premium amount / costs under the plan ever increase?
Preferred Legal Plan will guarantee no premium / cost increases for as long as the company desires such a guarantee. Preferred Legal Plan has no plans to increase its premiums.

Is there a minimum employee participation requirement?
No.

Is there a minimum subscription period required?
No. Preferred Legal Plan is a month-to-month membership.

What types of legal issues are covered?
All personal legal issues are covered. Employment or job related issues are explicitly NOT covered. Personal legal issues include divorce, child custody and support, paternity, adoption, domestic violence, civil litigation, guardianship, bankruptcy, name change, criminal defense, expungement, traffic tickets, DUI, wills, living trusts, probate, real estate, landlord-tenant disputes, immigration, credit report issues, personal injury and more.

How is an employee enrollment handled?
The enrollment process can be structured in any way to meet the needs and specifications of the company. Company representatives could deal directly with the Preferred Legal Plan owners to structure the enrollment accordingly. Effective enrollment methods include group style presentations, smaller group question and answer, one-on-one meetings and employee mail-outs.

What are the company’s responsibilities in administering the plan?
The only responsibilities expected of the company would be to maintain the payroll deduction process and remit payment to Preferred Legal Plan on a timely basis. Additionally, of course, Preferred Legal Plan would need to be notified of employee cancellations/terminations from coverage.

How is the monthly billing handled?
Preferred Legal Plan can furnish a monthly bill, including an itemized listing of each employee by name and social security number who is covered for the particular month and an invoice indicating the total amount due. This billing is sent on the 15th of a particular month, payable by the end of the month for that month. Thus, actual deductions are already “in hand’ when payment is due.

How can the company terminate an arrangement with Preferred Legal Plan?
Generally, Preferred Legal Plan does not enter into any written contractual arrangement with the company. Thus, the company may terminate an existing arrangement at any time simply by notifying the Preferred Legal Plan of its desire to do so. Reasonable notice (i.e. seven [7] days) would be expected.

Does the Preferred Legal Plan possess all in-force registrations, permits and licenses required to provide services?
Yes. Preferred Legal Plan is fully licensed, bonded and regulated by the Florida Department of Insurance.
